NZ Women in Wine

NZ Women in Wine supports women to reach their full potential and progress their careers in our industry.  It encourages conversations about equity, diversity and inclusion prompting action as needed to ensure there is equal opportunity for everyone to thrive.

In 2019, Women in Wine commissioned the first Our People survey and five years on we are repeating this.

Open to everyone working in the NZ Wine Industry.  If you can’t access the Members site, please contact jess.rutledge@nzwine for the survey link.  Eligible only to those working for a NZ Winegrowers member organisation.

This important research is used to launch and strengthen several initiatives supporting a more diverse workforce and our people’s wellbeing.

CONNECT. INFORM. CHANGE.

Women represent a large portion of the New Zealand wine industry, working in all roles and at all levels. NZ Women in Wine helps women follow their dreams, enjoy a fulfilling career and ensure there is diversity around the decision table.

Women in Wine is for everyone – regardless of gender or role within the industry. All members are invited to participate, join the conversation and build networks.

CONNECT

Networking provides opportunities to create valuable relationships, share successes and ideas. A supportive community generates confidence and leads to success for both individuals and the industry as a whole. Regional Women in Wine groups have been formed around the country enabling members to meet regularly and national networking is also supported through virtual and in person events.

INFORM

Women in Wine gathers statistics to identify any challenges which may exist for women working in our industry.  This information is shared and used to set goals for change and to measure progress.  WiW also provides information and resources to help women upskill and reach their goals through educational workshops.

CHANGE

By creating awareness, challenging thinking and processes, whilst keeping diversity and equality front of mind, Women in Wine generates change where needed.  Organisations are encouraged to assess their structure and make changes where necessary ensuring women can thrive and step up into leadership roles.

The bespoke Women in Wine Mentoring Programme reflects all three of these.
