NZ Women in Wine Field Trip 2025 - Waipara

On the eve of Pinot Noir 2025 what better way to kick start this exciting week than a Women in Wine field trip to discover North Canterbury?  Enjoy networking, learn more about the region’s wines, its innovations and meet some of the amazing women from this pioneering region. Everyone is welcome to join.

Date: Monday 10 February 2025

Time: 11.30 am – 6.00/6.30 pm

The bus will depart Christchurch city centre at 11.30 am.  Pick up place TBC.

Cost: $135 incl GST

Includes:  Transport, lunch and wine tastings

Itinerary

  • Depart Christchurch
  • Waipara Springs – Welcome to the region, meet owner Katie Lumber and enjoy a platter lunch and glass of wine
  • Crater Rim - meet Jacqui Smith, Assistant Winemaker
  • Klima – meet Tina George and learn more about the award-winning Klima pruning innovation which is now being exported around the world
  • Pegasus Bay Te Mau Vineyard – Zoe Marychurch will talk about some exciting trials in the vineyard, as well as giving the unique opportunity of sampling in situ the wine that comes from that very site.  
  • Torlesse – Meet Maggie Rayner and hear her story as one of the pioneers of the region.  We’ll also taste other North Canterbury wines as more women from the region join us to round off the day.
  • Return to Christchurch to arrive back 6-6.30pm
