Saint Clair Half Marathon

09 May 2018

The Saint Clair Half Marathon is the original vineyard run which first took place 12 years ago and has grown bigger and brighter every year, with music around the course, surprise treats, beautiful vineyard views and wine tastings at the end in the race village.

2018 marks the sixth year that the half marathon has supported the Bowl Cancer NZ charity. NZ has one of the highest bowel cancer rates in the world and it is our second highest cause of cancer death. More than 3000 people are diagnosed with bowel cancer every year and more than 1200 die from the disease, but with early detection the survival rate is estimated at more than 75%.

Organiser Anna Polson says “BCNZ approached us to ask about using the event to raise a bit of profile for helping with the prevention of bowel cancer. Over the past 6 years the Saint Clair Vineyard Half Marathon has raised around 150K – most of which has used to lift awareness about early detection and subsequent treatment.”

All runners get extra goodie bags and running singlets – they come to the event as teams to support each other, enjoy themselves and have great weekend in Marlborough, as well as running for a great cause.

The event is all sold out this year, but put it on your Must Do list for 2019 and max out up for a fantastic cause! To find out more visit https://vineyardhalf.com/
