Introduction of SWNZ late fees
From 2025, any member with any of the following submissions outstanding as of 1 September each year will be charged a late fee of $200 +GST per outstanding property. Payment of late fees is required to ensure ongoing SWNZ certification.
- Questionnaire
- Spray diary (vineyards only)
- Biosecurity Vineyard Register (vineyards only)
- Payment of membership fees (invoices circulated in May each year)
All SWNZ submissions continue to be due by 30 June each year. A two-month grace period (until 1 September) is given to all SWNZ members after this deadline to submit any outstanding submissions before late fees are incurred.
We have introduced late fees to help cover the additional costs NZW incurs when submissions are received after 1 September. This includes the administrative cost of chasing late submissions. In addition, late submissions often delay audit scheduling. When an auditor needs to travel back to a region for a late audit, additional travel costs and related expenses are incurred. The SWNZ Terms and Conditions have been updated to include provision for the payment of Late Fees. As always, you will need to consent to the updated Terms and Conditions in your annual SWNZ Questionnaire if you wish to continue in the SWNZ programme.
If you have a genuine reason for not being able to complete your SWNZ submissions on time, please contact the SWNZ Membership Support team at membership@swnz.org.nz to discuss an extension.
