The Explorer Single Vineyard Central Otago Pinot Noir is made from hand-picked grapes grown in the organic Domaine Thomson Vineyard in the famous Lowburn sub-region of Central Otago.
Review:
A complex pinot, the palate is elegant, yet concentrated, with bright acidity and fine tannins. Fruity and distinctly varietal with sweet cherry, light clay and a hint of thyme. Dry, spicy with the oak influence emerging quickly, followed by sweet ripe cherry, a rhubarb and cranberry mix and youthful dusty tannins. The medium-plus acidity gives fresh and youthful appeal with an elegant finish.
