de la terre is a family-run winery in Hawke’s Bay producing small volumes of high quality, hand-crafted wines with their own ‘signature’ – full-flavoured with elegant and balanced mouthfeel and a touch of complexity, designed to accompany food. The hand-crafted approach starts with hand-picking all the fruit, gentle handling at the winery using traditional winemaking techniques, through to bottling and labelling on site and individually hand-numbering the Reserve wines. Nothing is rushed and with the emphasis on minimal handling, every effort is made to retain the integrity and concentration of the fruit.

Full range of wine styles, from Methode Traditionnelle, through red and white table wines to fully a botrytised Noble Viognier. Grape varieties include Barbera, Montepulciano, Tempranillo, Arneis, Tannat, Syrah, Chardonnay and Viognier. Informative tastings are hosted by the Winemaker, Tony Prichard. There is a tasting fee to cover 5 wines which is waived on purchase of 3 bottles or more.
