At Churton our approach has always been for minimal impact on the environment. The vineyard was planted in 2000 into the natural and long established pasture and we have never used insecticides or systemic sprays.
As our experience and confidence has evolved we are progressively converting the vineyard to full organic certification (Biogro) in time for the 2014 vintage.
We follow the principles of Biodynamics, which is a method of organic farming that emphasizes the holistic development and interrelationships of the soil, plants and animals as a self-sustaining system.
