We have extended our trial of crushed glass in A Block (Pinot Noir). The grapes responded really well to our initial trial. This locally sourced eco-friendly product improves weed control, warms the soil, aids moisture retention and reflects light into the canopy to assist in ripening of the grapes.
We had previously trialed white plastic but found it harboured a few too many slugs. Here's hoping the slugs don't like crawling over glass and we can add some more complexity to our wines.
