Environmental Policy
Soljans Estate Winery is committed to environmental management of all winemaking activities within our control. We continually look for better processes to both improve our product and to reduce the impact on the environment.
We do this by:
Complying with all environmental legislation and related regulations and keeping up to date with the industry’s sustainability programmes;
Reducing waste and consumption and committing to recovery and recycling;
Seeking to improve efficient use of resources including energy and water.
Sustainable Winegrowing
Soljans Estate is a family owned company and has been a fully accredited (SWNZ) winery since 2011. We strive for best practice in all areas of winemaking from vineyard to winemaking and to bottling. We are looking for improvement in all areas and to find ways of reducing our footprint and use resources in a socially and environmentally responsible way. To assist us in this we look to Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand (SWNZ) for guidance and support.
Amongst other things, Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand was developed to:
Provide a "best practice” model of environmental practices in the vineyards and winery, to guarantee better quality assurance from the vineyard through to the bottle;
Address consumer concerns in matters pertaining to the environment and wine grape production;
Provide a format of continual improvement to ensure companies operate with a goal of improving their operational practices;
Create the opportunity to be a part of the positive future for New Zealand grape growers and winemakers.
